Lovely lights

Love, love, love the string lights!! They would fit perfectly in our kitchen that is getting a little makeover at the moment. And the wall hanged lamp is also fantastic!

The magic about attics

I don`t know what it is, but old attics is something that really makes my heart beat a little bit faster. My first attic love was as a child, watching swedish children program Pippi Longstocking and her messy but totally fantastic attic where you could find real treasures. I think it is just that that makes my heart beat, the knowing that the attic might hide all these old things and memories. Maybe vintage clothing that you can dress up in as a child, old chests containing photos from a time long before, or furnitures that has been used for generations.

 I just love how these attics make my fantasy fly far away.

In a couple of weeks (5th august) I am turning 30 years. But no 30-year crise is coming as far as my eyes can see. ;) I think I have crised enough already in my life, and can really say that right now I feel calmer and happier than ever. And I think it will just be better and better from now! But more crises will of course come in the future. That is a part of life, and makes us grow. But at the moment I am pleased, and have nor time or lust for any crises ;)

Maybe I am to old to write wishlists. But to make it a little bit easier for my relatives, I have done a small list with lovely things that I have been longing for for a long time!

Ikea dollhouse furniture

Via blogger LittleHelsinki I found this real fun little news. Ikea is launching dollhouse furnitures in August! Small miniatures of some of their most iconic products. About a year ago I bought an old dollhouse, that has got a big makeover, new color both in and outside and different wallpapers. But there are some small details left to fix, and some furnitures that have to move in. Now I know where to find them, this small goodies will be so perfect!

Swedish midsummer

 Midsummer`s eve yesterday included all the traditional ingredients: Picking flowers, dance around  the maypole, barbeque and summerpotatoes, strawberries and whipped cream, rain and sun, and happy kids and happy parents!

Some lovely and inspirational pictures, from a pretty new company  called "Ejvor", that sells prints, cards and textilies, all with simple, graphic patterns. I get happy so when I see styling like this!

It is all about the details

Wild flowers

Is there anything more beautiful than a bunch of wild sommer flowers placed in a vase of glass? 

Even when they start to wilt they look lovely. 

An armchair for 30 SEK

30 swedish crowns I payed for this goodlooking armchair on one of our local fleamarkets. 

And it is in real good condition. That I call a real find!

Open bookshelves

 Since I was 6 years old and learned how to read I have been a real bookworm. I think that read books has always been and still are my form of meditation. An hour with a book in a quiet place is reaaly calming for my mind. And also so inspirational for the brain, I often get so much to reflect over after I have read an intriguing book. 

I remember as a small kid writing lists with points about facilities I dreamed about for my future home, and the first point always was: An own library with books from the cealing to the roof. And of course also a big stair to pick the books on the highest shelves down (as often seen in old movies and fairytales.) I don`t think this librarydream ever will become true (but who knows). But I am very pleased with our open bookshelves at home. I love to see all the titles and their spines in different colors, love the feeling that you easy can pick a book down and read on their back, just like in a library. When we turned the shelves up a couple of years ago I tried to color sort them out at first, but I felt it was too perfect and organised for me, so I turned them into messy rows again.

Little studio shop is open again!

I must show you this new company, SUPERFRONT, selling fronts, handles and legs for IKEA furnitures. It was love at first sight I can really say! The legs: WOW, the handles: WOW and the fronts: SUPERWOW. All the parts is simple but beautiful, exactly my style. I had already planned a visit to IKEA next week, buying BESTÅ furniture for my shop, and the thought was to buy simple plan white fronts from IKEAs own sortiment. But now I have certainly changed my mind, the harlequin fronts talked to my heart directly ;) So them it must be!

Ända sedan vi stängde vår shop så har vi dagligen fått mailförfrågningar om att köpa våra posters. 

Så igår bestämde jag och Marit att vi kör en liten popupshop här på bloggen under ett par veckor. Så vill du beställa någon av ovanstående posters, skicka oss ett mail på info@littlestudio.se. 

Priset är precis som tidigare 325 kr (strl a3), frakt inom Sverige 50 kr.

Sista orderdatum för leverans innan jul är 11/12 (garantin gäller endast inom Sverige)

Little studio hos Rädda barnens designshop

Hej alla fina! Tänkte bara kika in och säga att 5 av våra Little Studio prints finns nu att köpa i limiterad utgåva i Rädda barnens designshop, tillsammans med massa andra utvalda designobjekt tänkta att göra världen vackrare. Köper du dem bidrar du till Rädda barnens viktiga arbete: att göra tillvaron och framtidsutsikterna ljusare för barn i utsatta situationer. Ett bra köp blir samtidigt en god handling!

Paus

I thought I had the time and energy to everything I wanted, but I was wrong... So I taking a break with the blog, again.  So now it is focus on my childrenshop, my freelance jobs and my family. But I think I will be back, when the schedule is a little less larded.

Shop is closed, but Little Studio is still alive

As we written before we have closed down our webshop for a while, and instead working with designs for other companies. We can not tell which companies at the moment, but it is a lot of fun! (and when the jobs are done of course we will show you!) So Little Studio is still living, just in a different way, working undercover. ;) And finally we have our new website done! :) So if you have a moment left, check it out  here.

Min första egna lägenhet, var en 1:a på 32 kvm. Jag var 16 år när jag flyttade in, och jag hade förmånen att få nya tapeter betalda till alla rum utav hyresvärden. Hallen fick en ljunglila tapet, som även tapetserades över alla rummets 5 garderobsdörrar. Vardagsrummet fick en trendig grårandig tapet och till pytteköket valdes en rulle utav en vitskimrande lyxig "dyrgrip" (med tonåringsmått mätt). Sen var det roliga kvar, att inreda lägenheten. Tyvärr med en nästan obefintlig budget. Så köksmöbler fick jag ta över utav en vän minns jag, bord och stolar i lackad furu, som målades vitt efter ett tag (fast jag drömde om att köpa ett barbord i ek från Mio och stolar med skinnsits, sååå snyggt tyckte jag. då. ).Vardagsrummet fylldes med möbler i bok från IKEA-serien Benno, även dessa fick jag "ärva". Det var kombinerad bokhylla/tv-bänk plus soffbord och databord, allt i samma matchande lackade träfanèr. Tjusigt värre. Sen duttade jag upp och gjorde mysigt med mixade kuddar, lurviga plädar, massa blockjus och lite nya och gamla prylar i alla bokhyllefacken, uppställda i små stilleben. "Vad modääärnt du har" sa många som var på besök. "Oj vad ljust o stilrent". Ja, jämfört med den parallella trenden med teracotta, koboltblå eller vinröda tapeter med läcker blommig mittenbård, så kan jag ju förstå deras kommentarer. Även om ljust och fräscht idag är en helt annan sak ;)

13 år senare skiljer sig ju mitt hem en del, mot då. Fast jag tror ändå grundtänket är detsamma. Som att inreda med liten budget. Försöka göra det bästa utifrån förutsättningarna. Och framförallt det där "duttandet", som faktiskt suttit i sen jag var riktigt liten, finns kvar. Alltså att tänka på detaljerna. Och kärleken för fina saker, för sakers form, för material, för färg. Någon "röd tråd" eller "inredningsstil" existerar nämligen inte hemma. Utan allt handlar om att få alla dessa saker som jag tycker är fina att passa ihop. Och det är inte alltid lätt, när man gillar kristallkronor, retrosaker och industriprylar precis lika mycket. Så det flyttas runt och möbleras om, sakerna byter rum, och byter ställen med varann. För att till slut, förhoppningsvis hitta rätt plats. Och rätt prylkompis.

Så, vad har bilderna med detta att göra? Tja, det är en väldigt fin etta, till salu hos Alvhem mäkleri. :)

When I was 17, I moved in to my first apartment, it had one small room and a small kitchen. I had purple wallpaper in the hallway, and modern grey striped walls in the living room. I had unfurtunately very limited budget to buy furniture and things for, but was lucky to take over friends and relatives things, as this time really modern "Benno" serie from IKEA in beech. It was an combinated bookshelve/Tv-bench and also matching table and desk. Then I decorated with mixed pillows, cosy blankets and mixed still life in the bookshelf, with new and old things. I liked my little home. And people on visit thought my home was "soo modern and light". Well, if you compare to the paralell trend with koboltblue and teracotta colored walls, with mid bind, I can agree with their comments ;)

My home is of course very different now from then. But I think that the keynote is the same. As to furnish with a small budget. And do the best of what you got. And the love for the fine stuff, form, material, colors, it is still my addicition. But sometimes it is complicated when you love crystal chandeliers as much as retroflowered walls and really pure design. It is a challenge to mix them together and find their right places. So you move around, and move around, from room to room, from shelve to shelve, and  finally they use to find their perfect roomate and place.

And the above pictures? Well, It is a very goodlooking one room apartment from Alvhem mäkleri. :)
